I
thought it might be a good idea to do a dummy run before working on
my Metropolis painting because I'd only painted with gouache once
since last summer. It seemed obvious that the best way to prepare to
paint a black and white city with gouache would be to... well... paint a black
and white city with gouache. My incomplete cityscape from last year was at the point where I could finish it overnight, so it was the perfect candidate. Below are the in progress painting that I turned in last year, and the new version I completed a few days ago.
